Ingredients

  • 3 egg whites at room temperature
  • 175 g of brown caster sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 140°C (conventional)
  2. Prepare a baking tray with a sheet of baking paper
  3. Put the egg whites in a clean bowl and beat them until stiff peaks form
  4. Now add the sugar one tablespoonful at a time, continually beating until the sugar is dissolved into the egg whites.
  5. The easiest way to make the meringues is to spread them out into circles with a spoon, each circle should have a thickness of about 1 cm.
  6. Place the meringues in the oven and leave them in there for about 1 and a half hours or until the meringues are firm to the touch and no longer sticky.
  7. Turn off the oven and let the meringues cool down with the oven door partially open.
