Ingredients

  • 0.25 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 170g softened butter
  • 150g firmly packed brown sugar
  • 100g white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 300g all-purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 0.25 tsp Salt
  • 3 cups regular Oats, uncooked
  • 0.5 cup currants
  • 0.5 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Beat the butter at medium speed with an electric mixer. Gradually add sugars, beating well. Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
  2. Combine flour and next 4 ingredients, gradually adding butter to the mixture. Mix it well and stir in the oats and currents.
  3. Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls onto un-greased cookie sheets. Bake at 190°C for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool slightly on the cookie sheets. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
