Ingredients
- Flour
- Salt and Pepper
- 3 Lamb Shanks
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Pimenton Picante
- 1 big Onion, cut fine
- 2 Garlic Cloves, cut very fine
- 2 Carrots, cut fine
- 1/2 tsp Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Coriander
- 1/2 tsp Allspice
- 4 - 5 plum Tomatoes, chopped
- 2 cups Chicken Broth
- 100ml Red Wine
Instructions
- Salt and pepper the lamb shanks, and cover with flour, brown them in a heavy casserole dish.
- Remove lamb shanks and fry onion, garlic and carrots, add spices and fry for about 3 minutes.
- Add tomatoes, chicken broth, and red wine, bring to the boil, and put in the lamb shanks, cover and braise in the oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, vegetables and salad.
