A delicious, creamy dessert made with coffee and ladyfingers, with the optional addition of a little alcohol for flavoring.

Ingredients

  • 5 Table Spoons of Sugar
  • 4 Egg Yolks
  • 300ml Strong Coffee, with a little Sugar, and optionally some Grand Marnier.
  • 60 Ladyfingers
  • 500g Mascarpone Cheese
  • 4 Egg Whites
  • 1 grated Orange Rind
  • 1 grated Lemon Rind
  • Cocoa Powder

Instructions

  1. Cream the egg yolks with the sugar, mix the mascarpone together with the grated rind of orange and lemon into the creamed mixture.
  2. Beat the egg whites till stiff and fold gently into the mascarpone mixture.
  3. Wet the ladyfingers with the coffee and put the first layer into the dish. Make 2 – 3 layers.
  4. Sprinkle with cocoa powder and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
