Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp of Granulated Sugar
  • 125g self-raising Flour
  • 150g Butter
  • 900g Cooking Apples
  • 1 Lemon
  • 50g Raisins
  • 50g soft-light Brown Sugar
  • 75g Porridge Oats
  • 50g Desiccated Coconut
  • Custard or Ice Cream as accompaniment

Instructions

  1. Melt 25g of butter in a medium saucepan. Add the peeled, cored, and roughly chopped apples and the grated lemon rind and raisins. Cover and cook gently, stirring occasionally until the apples have softened - about 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in the granulated sugar.
  2. Mix together flour, oats, brown sugar, and coconut. Melt the remaining butter. Add to dry ingredients and stir to mix.
  3. Place the apple mixture into an ovenproof dish of 1.1L. Top with the crumble mixture.
  4. Bake at 190°C for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden. Serve hot or cold with custard or ice cream.
