Very flavoursome onion dish. Goes great on burgers or meatballs.
Notes: Don’t forget to stir occasionally!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 400 g of red onions, cut in thin rings
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp red balsamic vinegar 
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Heat oil at medium heat in a frying pan and add the onions
  2. Add a pinch of salt and let onions cook slowly for 15 to 20 minutes, stir from time to time as they shouldn't burn
  3. When the onions are good and soft, add the sugar and vinegar
  4. Cook at low heat for another 10 minutes
