Ingredients

  • 500 g finely ground beef mince
  • 1 medium onion, finely diced
  • 1 medium egg, beaten
  • 40 g of fine bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp salt (approx. 5 g)
  • pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 - 4 dashes of Maggi (optional)

Instructions

  1. Take meat out about 1 hour before cooking, salt it and leave to rest
  2. Finely dice the onion and fry in the olive oil at a medium heat until onion is glassy
  3. While onion is cooking, add pepper, beaten egg and bread crumbs (and Maggi) to the meat, mix well, adding the onion to the mixture when ready
  4. Heat a large frying pan (same as used for the onion) or a griddle if you want to cook without oil to 3/5 max temperature
  5. Measure out small balls at about 50 g each and put them on a plate or chopping board
  6. Cook the meatballs for 3-4 minutes per side and set them aside for 1 minute to rest

This recipe goes well with mashed potatoes and pretty much any vegetables. Enjoy!
